At the time, the band's line-up included legendary musicians Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius, and Don Alias. Alex passed the audition and toured the world with the band. He was later featured on Weather Report's landmark album "Heavy Weather", which included the jazz classic "Birdland" and became one of the most important and influential records in the history of American music.
