In 1971, Tony Braunagel left Texas in pursuit of his musical ambitions and headed for New York City, but did not stop there. Finding himself in London, England, Tony Braunagel served as the house drummer for Island Records for about a year. Tony Braunagel was also a regular in other recording studios in and around London. While still with Island, Tony Braunagel co-founded the rock band Crawler with Paul Kosoff..

After several years in the U.K., Tony Braunagel relocated to Los Angeles, California. In the early 1980s, Tony performed with Eric Burdon, Rickie Lee Jones, and Bette Middler. Then in 1984, Tony Braunagel got comfortable in Bonnie Raitt's drum chair for both Nick of Time and Luck of the Draw.

Throughout the 1990s, Tony Braunagel was a highly sought-after session drummer. Tony Braunagel played on Taj Mahal's Grammy Award winning album, Señor Blues, and he produced/performed on the Grammy Award winning Shoutin' in Key Live. An accomplished bass guitarist and vocalist, Tony Braunagel has also played for film scores and television shows. And he is successful composer too!
