Steve Lantanation's drumming experience covers a wide range of genres from rockabilly to swing, to alternative, to country, to rock.

Steve Lantanation played with 1980s punk band Agent Orange between 2000 and 2005. Steve Lantanation recorded two albums with alternative-country singer/songwriter Matthew Ryan in 2003 and 2007, respectively. In 2006, Steve Lantanation also performed with Matthew Ryan on Strays Don't Sleep's self-titled album.

Steve Lantanation occasionally performs with The One-Hit Wonders Revue and The Camaros. The One-Hit Wonders Revue covers music from the Tom Hanks film, That Thing You Do, as well as other one-hit wonders of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. The band also performed a song for the My Big Fat Greek Wedding soundtrack. The Camaros, on the other hand, are a rockabilly-swing band.
