A professional drummer for over twenty-five years, Phil Bloch is considered one of the top R&B drummers in Los Angeles. Phil Bloch keeps an ongoing schedule of studio and live performances, production, and songwriting. Phil Bloch's New Orleans-influenced grooves are as in demand as his down home shuffles and straight ahead R&B beats. From the rootsy, southern sound of Terry Evans and Ry Cooder, to the supremely soulful grooves of Rock & Soul King Solomon Burke, and the keen ear of Motown arranger and keyboardist Hense Powell, Phil Bloch's playing is solid and tasteful. Phil Bloch has been honored to work with some of the best artists around and in some of the top studios in the world.

As a songwriter, Phil Bloch has worked in many different genres. Phil Bloch's also worked with Disney as the writer for Disney Quest, a five floor indoor interactive theme park located at Disney World.

In addition to producing numerous R&B projects, Phil Bloch recently produced a jazz recording for guitarist Tom Hynes and a children’s recording featuring The Chenille Sisters, Canada's The Magpies, T-Bone, Sooz, Bethie, and Tickle Toon Typhoon.

Phil Bloch has recorded or played live with many artists. This list includes Little Richard, Marva Wright, Willie Green Jr., Hamish Stuart, Delaney Bramlett, Hense Powell, Jorge Calderon, George Bohanon, Tony Gilkyson, and many more. Phil Bloch has also worked with staff songwriters at Arista, Warner Bros., and MCA Records. Additionally, Phil has done movie and television work in Los Angeles and New York for NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX, as well as various cable networks.

Phil Bloch has been a consultant for the Yamaha Corporation (America and Japan) since 1981. Phil Bloch ha been directly involved in the research, development, and after-market technical support of both acoustic and digital music products. These products include drums, drumheads, drumsticks, drum hardware, direct trigger and MIDI percussion systems, MIDI keyboards, sequencers, drum machines, sound modules, and professional audio equipment.

Phil Bloch's abilities as a performer, clinician, project manager, author, sampling session producer, computer operator, systems programmer (including FM, Additive, Subtractive, Sampling, and Physical Modeling systems), music composer, and educator are very much in demand.
