Biography

Kofi Baker received instruction from his father, legendary Cream and Blind Faith drummer Ginger Baker, at a very early age. His fatherís technique and mastery of the instrument inspired young Kofi Baker. The two Bakers made their first on-stage appearance together in 1975 on the live U.K. show, The Old Gray Whistle Test. A few years later, in the early 1980s, the Bakers toured Europe with Cream vocalist Jack Bruce.

In 2005 Kofi Baker created a tribute to his fatherís band called Tribute to Cream (the name Kofi and Cream was considered, though sadly rejected).

Living in Los Angeles, California, Kofi Baker teaches drums out of his studio. One student nicknamed him "Mr. Polyrhythm" and said that watching Kofi Baker play for too long will make you feel seasick.

Kofi Baker is also a member of the trio Ohm. Formed by original Megadeth guitarist, Chris Poland, as well as Robertino Pagliari, Ohm has been described as exceeding the sound constraints one would expect of an instrumental trioóall three musicians' capabilities are utilized to capacity.
