Eric Boudreault started playing drums at three and received his first kit at five. He started taking drum lessons at seven and joined his first band at ten. He played with various symphony orchestras, giving him the opportunity to go on tour in Europe, USA and Canada at a young age.
Since then, he played with bands of different styles, including Funk, Swing, Latin, Progressive, Punk, Hip-Hop, Hard Rock, R&B, Jazz, Alternative, etc., and focuses on versatility and musicality. Eric holds a bachelors in Music Performance from Concordia University and also has a diploma (D.E.C.) Performance degree from Alma College in music. Modern Drummer, DRUM! Magazine, and Drums, Etc. have made mentions of his young career. In November 1999, he played at the Montreal Drumfest in the Yamaha Rising Stars Showcase. Eric's second performance at the Montreal Drumfest was in October, 2008, as one of the featured artists. Eric was also the cover story of Drums, Etc. magazine in Canada March/April 2007. Eric endorses Remo, MEINL cymbals, Regal tip, Roland and DW Drums. Eric teaches at many different schools and has projects running in Quebec, Canada and the United States. He gives master classes and percussions workshops around the country, while still doing more than 200 shows per year since 2001.
Eric did a three and a half year tour with the groundbreaking show CAVALIA (www.cavalia.net), with more than 700 shows and 1,300,000 tickets sold between 2003 and 2007.
Eric started is band Waza in 2006… and has played in many Jazz festivals in Canada and at the NAMM Show 2011. Since 2007, he is the drummer and producer of the singer Pastel. He has also had the chance to play with the following artists: John Patitucci, Alex Acuna, John Beasley, Michel Donato, François D'amours, Ronald Di Lauro, Michel Cusson, Muhammed Abdul Abkhabyyr, and many more.
Eric recently worked at the famous Sound City in Los Angeles as a session drummer, recording drum tracks for TV soundtracks.
He also tours with the rock & roll circus "Les Parfaits Inconnus" since 2007, travelling all around the world. Now they’re working on the second brand new show. Since 2008 Eric has been the drummer for the biggest interactive percussions school and show in Canada, called Samajam, giving shows everywhere in Canada.
Eric is also doing solo drum clinics, and a few in duo with Magella Cormier. Recently he performed on the Jazz-fusion Album of the bass player Antoine Fafard. Dave Weckl and Magella Cormier are the two other drummers on this record.
Finally , Now he is Back with Odysséo (Cavalia 2) for an American tour. The show is the biggest production on tour in America, with 115 trucks, the biggest big top in the world on the road, 80 horses, 55 artists, more than 165 people on the tour. For more information, click on the link below:
