Drum Channel's CREATIVE COVER CONTEST
NO PURCHASE NESESSARY. A purchase of any kind will not increase your chance of winning. Entry into the contest constitutes acceptance of these official rules.
1. Summary of contest
The CREATIVE COVER Contest will be judged in two parts. 10 finalists will be chosen, 5 potential finalists by the internet community (in a 1 to 5 star ranking, 5 being the highest, on the contest page of DrumChannel.com) and 5 “wild card” picks by a panel of judges. If the potential finalists have complied with the official rules, they will be deemed Grand Finalists. A panel of professional musicians will pick the winner during a LIVE DC Show in May 2012. Date TBD. To enter, make a video of yourself playing 1 of 3 songs and follow the detailed steps below to put the video on the contest page at DrumChannel.com. By participating in the contest, each entrant as described below agrees to comply with and be bound by the official rules. The decision of the sponsors and judges will be final and binding in all respects. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Void where prohibited.
2. Timing of Contest
The contest period begins at 12 am PDT on March 1, 2012 and ends at 11:59 pm PDT on May 1, 2012. The 10 finalists will be posted on DrumChannel.com in May 2012 and they will be notified by email.
3. How to Enter

b. Film yourself playing a long with the song you choose. *Note: You will not be judged on video or audio quality.
c. Go to YouTube.com and upload your video. Set the performance to “public” and tag your video, “1000covercontest ”. By doing this, you are allowing your video to be viewed on the Drum Channel contest page and you are agreeing to the terms and conditions stated herein.
d. Once you have completed step C, Click HERE to Sign up NOW!!
4. Upload Problems
Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Allow up to 24 hours for your YouTube video to post on DrumChannel.com. Drum Channel, LLC. is not responsible if your video does not load onto the contest page at DrumChannel.com.
Judging will in three phases.
PHASE 1: All entrants are judged
a. Contest videos which are successfully uploaded onto YouTube.com and voted on at DrumChannel.com will be eligible for judging by anyone who goes to the DrumChannel.com contest video page and then votes on one or more videos by ranking them by 1 to 5 stars, 5 being best.
b. 5 potential finalists, will be chosen by the internet community based on the number of stars they receive.
c. The earlier you sign up the more it could increase your chances of winning.
Phase 2, All entrants are judged
a. 5 “wild card” finalists will be chosen by a panel of professional drummers. The “wild card” finalist chosen out of all the contestants will be potential winners. All 10 contestants will be deemed grand finalists when it is determined they have met all of the official rules.
Phase 3, Grand Finalists are judged
a. A panel of professional musicians as determined solely by the sponsors will judge the top 10 finalists. They will review the submissions of qualified entrants, based on the official contest rules.
6. Judging criteria of contest winner
The judges will score each of the grand finalists by ranking them from 1-10 in each of the 5 categories, with 10 being the best. The judges’ total scores between 5 and 50 for each contestant will then be added, resulting in the total final score for each contestant. By participating in the contest, all contestants agree that the decision of the judges is final.

Determining the grand prize winner will be during a LIVE Streamed event on DrumChannel.com in May 2012. Date TBD.
The contest is open to all, worldwide. If you are under 18, you must obtain permission to enter from a parent or legal guardian. You will be deemed ineligible if you are part of any musical group under a recording contract or if you have individually received adjusted gross earnings in excess of $30,000 for the prior tax year for professional musical activities. These activities would not include any teaching or instruction of music income. The Contest is void where restricted or prohibited by law. Employees of Drum Channel, Alien Ant Farm, and each of their affiliated companies, parents, subsidiaries, officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents, and advertising and promotion agencies (the "Contest Entities"), and their immediate families and members of their households, are not eligible to participate in this Contest. *For purposes of clarity, any person employed at any time from June 1, 2011 through the conclusion of the Contest will be considered an "Employee".
8. Terms and Conditions
If the Grand Prize Winner, (who is merely a "Potential Prize Winner" until all terms and conditions for receiving the prizes set forth in these Official Rules have been satisfied) does not comply with the Official Rules, is ineligible, fails to sign all required documents and/or fails to return all such documents by the date and/or time required, then that Potential Winner will be disqualified from further participation in the Contest and from winning any prize. As a result, the contestant with the next highest score in the last phase of this Contest that the disqualified Potential Winner won shall take his or her place with respect to both participation and any additional prizes. Each Potential Prize Winner must provide his or her Social Security Number in order to receive any prize. No cash redemption or prize substitution allowed. Prizes are non-transferable. All Prizes claimed will be awarded. Except in TN and where prohibited by law, entry in this Contest constitutes permission for the Contest Entities to use contestant's name, photograph, image, likeness, statement, testimonial, biographical information, voice, music, performance, prize information, in all forms of media, including on the internet and in film, videotapes, photographs and/or recordings (and/or edited versions thereof) on a worldwide basis, in perpetuity, without further compensation or notification.
By submitting submission, entrants and designated agents acknowledge that the submission may be posted on content parties and/or sponsors website at the sponsor’s discretion. The submission can be used for marketing promotions during or after the contest on the DrumChannel.com website, any other website or in broadcast.
9. Taxes and Cost Related to Prizes
All applicable taxes, including all federal, state, local and other taxes and any license, destination and delivery charges, fees, or costs, are the sole responsibility of each winner, or if the winner is a minor in his or her state of residence, the winner’s Guardian. Winners (or Winner’s Guardians, as applicable) may be issued a 1099 tax form for the approximate retail value of their prizes.

11. Disputes and Damage Waiver
As a condition of entering, entrants (or their parent or legal guardian if an eligible minor) agree (and agree to confirm in writing): (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with this Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and any judicial proceeding shall take place in a federal or state court within the State of Nevada; (2) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, if any, but in no event attorneys fees; and (3) under no circumstances will contestant be permitted to obtain any award for, and contestant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, and consequential damages, and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of contestants, Prize Givers and Sponsor in connection with this Contest shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of the State of California or any other jurisdiction), that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than those of the State of Nevada.
12. Limitations of Liability, Sponsors and Grand Prizes
As consideration for participation in the Contest, Contestants agree that Sponsor and Prize Givers and their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies (collectively "Released Parties") shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, expense, accident, delay, inconvenience, or other irregularity that may be caused or contributed to (i) by any wrongful, negligent, or unauthorized act or omission on the part of any other suppliers or any of their agents, servants, employees, or independent contractors (collectively, "Suppliers"); (ii) by any defect in or failure of any vehicle, equipment, accessories, instrumentality, service, product, or accommodation that is owned, operated, furnished, or used by any of those Suppliers; (iii) by the wrongful, negligent, or unauthorized act or omission on the part of any other person or entity not employed by that Released Parties; or (iv) by any cause, condition, or event whatsoever beyond the control of that Released Party. As consideration for participation in the Contest, each contestant agrees to waive and to release and discharge each Released Party from and against any claims, damages or liability, even if caused by the negligence of the Released Party, for any injury, damage, loss, expense, accident, delay, inconvenience, or irregularity arising out of or relating to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in this Contest or in any Contest-related activity or from acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize. All prizes are awarded "AS IS" and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose).
